Singapore Endangered Failed MotoGP title

Jakarta - Singapore plans held in the Moto GP next year threatened to fail. Circuit construction delays make Singapore GP is now a question mark.

November 2008, as the organizers Dorna MotoGP will confirm MotoGP haven in Singapore.

"We have signed an agreement with the promoter for the world championship series held in Singapore. But it all depends on the readiness of permanent circuits to be constructed. I thought it would be completed within three years, so there will be racing in the year 2011 if not 2012," says CEO Dorna, Carmelo Ezpeleta at the time.

A year before the planned time, Singapore has not yet shown readiness. Changi circuit construction is delayed because the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) plans to expand the area of Changi Motorsports Hub. Next March, will announce the three SSC consortium involved in the project.

Delayed development of this track makes Ezpeleta so pessimistic about whether GP would stop at Lion Country.

"Please do not ask anything about Singapore," Ezpeleta said as quoted from the Crash.

"In two years I often hear about a permanent circuit in Changi, but higga now I still do not know who will build it or information about when the circuit is ready for use," he continued.

"Clearly this is no time to talk about MotoGP in Singapore, whether or not race tonight. Singapore is one of the countries want to we stopped. But to this day there is no circuit that is ready, and without the race circuit can not be held.
