Jakarta - In the 2012 season, MotoGP engine capacity increased to 1000cc. But because the development of new machines in a short time will take a lot of costs, the team may use the 1000 cc engine or 800 cc.

About plans for using 1000 cc engine for the 2012 season have been agreed since then in December 2009. Meskin capacity additions are made to increase the lost interest the motor racing king.

But two years to change the machine capacity of 800 cc to 1000 cc in two years is considered too short. Because it would be the team need to spend a lot of money for the development process.

As a solution, FIM plans to create new regulations for the 2012 season. Later that motors down the race in the year may use the engine 800 cc or 1000 cc.

The plan emerged after a meeting held in Barcelona recently. Although not yet officially ratified, the new rule is believed to be actually implemented because of support from members of the MSMA, which consists of Honda, Ducati, Yamaha and Suzuki.

Because of differences in these machines, there are also several different regulatory principles for the realization of keadlian for each team. Maximum weight specified for the motor 800 cc engine is 150 kg, while for 1000 cc weight allowed is 153kg.

Fuel tank capacity will be maintained at 21 liters volume. While the share of machinery may be used drivers every season is six, the same as regulation this year.

As quoted from Motorcycle News, details of regulation changes in year 2012 will be announced in May.
